Well, I am a day release prisoner again.
All summer we were out, wind and rain (lots of rain!), not a problem.
Then along comes ONE frost…and we get dragged in.
For the first couple of weeks I got food in a bowl, and plenty of haynets. (We’ve been in two weeks now.) Then, the other day, I walk into my box and I find this:
Yes, that’s a whole roundbale of hay!
Imagine my surprise!
I wasn’t sure what to make of it, to be honest.
I mean, suddenly there was this blob…and it hadn’t been there before. I snorted a lot, then I realized this is a good thing.
I can eat all night if I want to, from any angle. I don’t have to pull on a haynet, and it’s not dusty.
(I was coughing a bit.)
My human likes it too. She says she’d rather I decorate with it, than go hungry. I thought that was very nice of her.
Three of my neighbors (Oriente, Max and Chance) have their bales in their boxes too.
On top of that I get a bowl of food, Alfa Easy and Alfa Beets mixed up. It’s really tasty!
That’s the reason I can’t wait to go in when it gets dark. With yummy stuff waiting for me…well.
Besides, it’s not as bad as I thought. I can see everyone through those bars, I’m out of the rain, I have a nice straw bed, plenty of water…and in the morning my neighbors human takes us out into the field again.
Granted, there’s less room with the bale in there, but I still have plenty of room to lie down and sleep, and nothing is blocked. Do you get an entire bale in your box?
