I get dinner again!
The human clearly saw the grass is short in the field, and decided to give me dinner at my box. Haven’t had any for months, but truth told…I was a little…portly. The grass was just soooo good, I couldn’t resist.
So now I get “Healthy Hooves” again.
I used to eat a “Grass” thingy, but it had too much starch in it.
I got real antsy while eating it, so she changed it for this one.
It’s tasty and I barely get my head out of the bowl until it’s all gone. She says it’s good for my feet, and there’s no starch to make me go fizzy.
I don’t get a lot of it. If it were up to me, I’d eat all of it, but she won’t let me.
Sometimes she puts apple juice in it! Oh it’s yummy!
No hay yet, but it’s nice to come in and get a bowl of this stuff. She says when it’s gone, I’ll get some Alfa-A for a while, to see how I’ll do on that.
I also wear my rug now. Which, seriously, can be annoying. I like not wearing a rug, but the way it’s been piddling down recently…I was kinda glad I had it on. She says she doesn’t want me to lose weight so quickly, because my grass belly is going down rapidly now.
As for exercise…we gait a lot now. I am comfy with the new saddle and she’s not getting in my way because she slides around (like on the old one, which was too big for her), but we still go out without a saddle on occasion, and I really enjoy that.
She says it’s to keep her balance. I think it’s kind of nice to be that close every now and then, and she doesn’t slip around as you’d expect without a saddle.
I still get the odd buck and half rear in, just to keep her on her toes. It annoys me when she’s not letting me go fast, and I tell her in no uncertain terms. Not that it helps much.
I like fast. The faster the better. Sometimes I get a bit ahead of myself and don’t know what to do with my feet…and end up gaiting in front, and cantering at the back.
That bounces her around and there’s some swearing going on.
All in all, I’m enjoying autumn, but the days are kind of short now, which doesn’t give us much time to go out. We try though, and she makes sure I get to have some fun.
How are all of you doing? Still out in the field, or back in the box?
