We went out for a lovely ride today, in sunshine and wind.
It all went very well — until there was a monster in the bushes and I jumped and sidestepped.
Straight into the bushes, where some dimwit had left some barbed wire. I got caught on it, and my human jumped straight off and freed me, while I worried about cutting my legs.
She sat there for ages, while I was blowing and a little freaked, checking every inch of my legs. No damage, she was off so fast, I never even made a step where something could pierce me. She said I was a very good boy for standing so quietly and letting her get my feet out of harms way.
She moved the wire as far away from the path as she could, but didn’t have anything to flag it with. Hopefully nothing else gets caught in it. It looked like a fence fell down somewhere.
That mishap out of the way, we walked back (her by my side for a while, until she was absolutely certain nothing was wrong) and contended with train monsters and stuff.
Well, apparently — or so she tells me — the farmer sent a text saying if we are all wormed, we can move into the field next door. (We’ve all been eying the grass.)
I hate worming. That yucky paste being squirted in your mouth, and it tastes funny and…well. I just have to make a fuss and refuse to do it.
Imagine my surprise when she came back into the field after she’d turned me out, bringing me some treats. I munched them, but they did taste a bit funny.
She left again, only to return with more treats. The apple and carrot ones I like. Telling me I’ve been a good boy and tomorrow I can go graze in the new field.
When did she worm me? Or did she forget?
I stood there, somewhat stunned.
Turns out those treats weren’t really treats!
They were Equimax Tabs, and I gobbled them thinking they were tasty.
But hey, at least no one shoves a tube in my mouth…
Here they are:
So if you don’t like the worming routine either — tell your human to try those.
1 tablet = 100kg, so it’s really easy to dose, too.
Laters, I shall dream of all that new grass I get to eat tomorrow!
