My name is Oscuro, and I’m a 10 year old Paso Fino.
Actually, my full name is Oscuro Del Gavilan — or at least that’s what it says in my passport.
My human thinks that’s way too long, and calls me “Oz” instead.
I was born in 2002, in Suffolk. I was one of the first Paso Finos in the UK.
Yes, I know Oscuro means “Dark” and I’m a dapple grey, but I used to be black, and then later a smoky silver.
I like it where I live now, in Surrey. The farm is nice, the grass is good and plentiful, and I have friends to hang out with.
I’m told in winter I have to go back to sleeping in a box, but for now I’m living out 24/7.
Luckily my human believes a horse should be out as much as possible, so I won’t end up cooped up 24 hrs even if the weather is bad.
I’m a mudpig by nature. There is nothing more satisfying than a good coating of mud. The thicker, the better.
My human doesn’t share this opinion, but then…she’s not the one who has to contend with the flies.
I love nibbles. My favorites are the apple and carrot treats I get, jam sandwiches, and mints.
But I won’t say no to carrots, apples, peaches and such things. I’m not keen on bananas though.
